BUNT-Baranavichy: Paying Respects to the Victims of Communism

BUNT activists from Baranavichy together with other local representatives of the democratic movement put in good order the site of the former prison “Crooked Stake.” A Cross in memory of the victims of Stalin’s victims was mounted at this prison’s site in 1992.

The activists cleaned up the territory, planted flowers around the Cross, and made nesting boxes for birds. Towards the end of the activities they also sang Belarusian hymn “Mighty God.”

BUNT’s Activization in Brest

These days BUNT activists in Brest conducted a massive wave of agitation.

A great amount of flyers with words “BUNT. Do not wait for changes, make them!”, hundreds of graffiti with the web address of the movement’s site, slogans “Long live Belarus!”, and the Belarusian coat-of-arms “Pahonya” (Pursuit) appeared in various districts of the city.

Rapid reaction of the authorities towards these “opposition malevolencies” has already become customary.

Activists Sentenced for the Freedom Day have been Released

The activists detained during the Freedom Day have been released today.

Zmitser Dashkevich was released five and a half hours earlier than the time listed on his protocol, probably so that his friends and acquaintances could not meet him at the prison.

A romantic moment occurred during the occasion.
