Zmitser Dashkevich Received Order of Freedom
This is an Order of Freedom in the name of Kastus Kalinouski, made out of bronze by sculptor Aleksei Shaternik. The words inscribed on the back side of the order read “Live in Freedom!” Zmitser Dashkevich has been decorated for courage and consistency in his struggle for freedom.
Activists of the alliance of Manifest “Time to Win,” which includes Belarusian Youth Movement of America, BUNT, Third Way and others, represent initiators and founders of the award. The award was presented to Dashkevich on March 4 in Tallinn, Estonia. Youth activists from Belarus and the United States, representative of Estonia, members of the Congress of Young Belarusian Diaspora, and the leader of BNF Zyanon Paznyak were present at the ceremony.
Dashkevich could not come to Estonia and therefore he participated through a teleconference. During this Congress of the New Diaspora, as it was termed during the meeting, Belarusian young people from different countries, including Belarus, discussed problems in Belarus, shared ideas about possibilities of supporting Belarus and the struggle of its people for democracy.
